Madam,
On opening last week’s Cambrian News, I was yet again drawn to the on-going saga of Borth’s Tree debate.
I fully understand that the Planning Inspectorate can overturn the wishes of local democratically elected bodies, and in some cases this is a good thing.
However my understanding of this would be that the planning permission would have been sought either on land or property that the applicant owned or had the intention of purchasing or with the full consent of the owners/tenants or other bodies. Unless I have missed the important facts in this case this does not appear to be so.
If this erection is allowed to take place this will set a precedent for anyone wishing to erect any structure on another person/body’s land.
Yours etc,
R H Williams, Llangwyryfon, Aberystwyth.
