A FORMER Barmouth mayor says he is being forced to leave his boyhood town following a rise in xenophobia in post-Brexit Britain.
Speaking to the Cambrian News, Mr Jones said: “Jupp and I have been together now for 30 years, it’s a long time.
“Some have called me a traitor for turning my back on Wales and 300 years of family history in a small town by the sea. Some have said I should stay and fight – but I’m struggling to focus on a positive vision for Wales outside of the EU.
“If I stayed I wouldn’t know what to fight for.”
