Madam,
I feel compelled to write, concerned at the continual criticism of our Welsh NHS by certain sections of the media, especially TV news. My wife and I have nothing but praise for the excellent service we have received over the past 10 years from the most wonderful and dedicated staff, from the doctors, nurses and receptionists at our local surgery, to public-spirited ambulance staff, and nurses, doctors and specialists based at Tywyn, Bronglais Hosptal, Morriston Hospital, and Maelor Hospital in Wrexham. Had it not been for the dedication of all these people, my wife and many of our friends would not be here today. And let us not forget the Air Ambulance workers in this praise. We, the public, owe so much to these un-grudging and resolute individuals, that we must be seen to defend and protect their integrity against any criticism in the future. I urge you all to support our campaign to defend our NHS, given to us by a Welsh-man all those years ago, something of which Welsh people must be very proud. We and many in our group of friends remember the years prior to the introduction of the NHS and it is not something we would welcome revisiting.
Yours etc
George Buckley
Tywyn.
