A ROCK festival held in Harlech Castle has been hailed as a great success.

Crowds of people converged on the World Heritage site to enjoy live music and help support their local community.

“With the turrets lit and the drinks flowing, the local people of Harlech and visitors from further afield packed the castle to the brim and rocked out to the awesome sounds of Gwibdaith Hen Frân and Bryn Fôn and his band,” said Rock the Castle Festival spokesperson, Heidi Williams.

“It was a great evening and one of the best of Rock Ardudwy Events’ fundraisers for Harlech & Ardudwy Leisure Centre.

“A big thanks to Made with Zeal, who sponsor the event, and even bigger thanks go to the volunteer team of Rock Ardudwy Events for all their hard work with the organising and set-up of the event in Harlech which is no easy task.”

Heidi, who is a volunteer with Rock Ardudwy Events, added: “I live locally and I have never seen the castle so full with such an amazing atmosphere, it is a special venue and thanks to Cadw and staff of Harlech Castle for all their help and support and allowing us to make this a really special event.

“We managed to get some funding from Gwynedd Council and Snowdonia National Park to help with the costs of putting on such a huge event and we would like to thank them for their continuing support."
