One year after launching, the Cardigan Farmers Market has announced its first anniversary celebrations across October, marking its successful transition into a regular fixture in the town.

After a highly successful pilot in September last year, Cardigan Farmers Market held its first regular market on Friday 24th October 2025 and has been running on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month ever since.

What began as a pilot event aimed at testing the appetite for a regular farmers market has grown into a regular community gathering, now featuring around 20 local producers selling cheese, bread, meat and seasonal vegetables. There are also ready to eat food stalls, ferments, honey, cakes and much more.

Both October markets will feature live music from local musician Malachai Newman. Visitors are invited to come and taste what their local food system has to offer. Come along and soak up the atmosphere, browse the market stalls and enjoy the live music.

The market was founded with the aim of contributing to a diverse local food system. By actively supporting local producers and ensuring they receive a fair price for their produce, the market enables more people in Cardigan to buy locally, reducing food miles and keeping money circulating within the local economy.

Market dates for your diary for 2026 are 16 October, 6, November, 20 November, 4 December and a Christmas market with crafts on 18 December.

Sophie Bennett, Director Ein Cegin, said: “We are very lucky to have such diverse and beautiful local produce on our doorstep and we hope that Cardigan Farmers Market continues to demonstrate the power of food in bringing people together for many years to come. We want to celebrate the diversity of local food and connect as many people as possible with local growers and producers.”
