OVER £1,000 was raised for the charity Breast Cancer Now at a Pwllheli fashion show last week.

Despite foul weather, an audience of over 70 attended the event at the Plas Heli Venue to see models from the age of 25 to those in their mid 60s strut their stuff on the catwalk and receive a rapturous welcome.

Event organiser, Kathy Gittins, told the Cambrian News: “It was a very successful night and for such a worthy cause. I’d like to thank the businesses and private individuals of Pwllheli and beyond for their most generous support in donating raffle prizes which helped boost the money raised.”

Kathy has been in business in Pwllheli for 13 years and has two other shops in Welshpool and Cowbridge, Cardiff.

Kathy said: “Breast cancer can have an effect on so many people. My own mother suffered from it back in the 70s but thankfully she’s still with us aged 91 and will be modelling for me at a Fashion Show in Welshpool at the end of the month”

Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s largest breast cancer research charity.
