Young photographers have been invited to take part in FfotoAber’s schools competition. For the sixth year running the FfotoAber competition and challenging Photomarathon has returned. Students can now get snapping during the holidays with an added bonus of a possible £50 cash prize in the primary and secondary sectors. This year there is no theme, because the only aim this year is to inspire as many young photographers as possible with the possibility of their winning photo being presented far and wide in the Rotary Club’s promotional material. The Partnership with the Rotary Club is still present and member Geraint Thomas believes that this competition will be a fresh challenge for budding photographers. Mr Thomas said: “The interest has been wonderful in recent years and we were keen to build further on this interest. We started thinking last year that the standard of the winning entries was so high that more people should see them, so we came up with the idea of giving them a further platform on our notelets.

The 2016 Photomarathon will be held on 22 October at the Morlan Centre, Aberystwyth. To learn more about the festival, visit www.ffotoaber.cymru or follow on Facebook and Twitter @FfotoAber
