Aberystwyth’s main shopping street was shut to traffic this morning by the fire service.

Firefighters closed the street at around 10.05am in order to make safe loose tiles on one of the shop buildings.

Traffic was backing up around Bridge Street and Pier Street.

Firefighters used an elevated platform to access the area and quickly made it safe, and the road was then reopened.
