Nationalist campaigners will be joined by Wales' First Minister at a rally in Aberystwyth next weekend.

Yes Cymru will hold a rally in Aberystwyth on Saturday, 26 September, calling for an independent Wales, which latest polls show less than a third of the country is in favour of.

Earlier this week, Rhun ap Iorwerth, along with Sinn Féin and the Scottish Nationalist Party, declared that Westminster's time is coming to an end and that they were all committed to breaking up the United Kingdom.

Yes Cymru confirmed that the Plaid Cymru leader will be in Aberystwyth for the march and will speak at the march for independence.

He will be joined by Hywel Griffiths, National Eisteddfod Crown and Chair winner; influencers Bethany Davies and Cerys Hutin and Elwyn Vaughan MS for Gwynedd Maldwyn.

Yes Cymru said: "This will be the eleventh March for Independence since 2019.

"Following a historic week that saw pro-independence leaders from Wales, Scotland and Ireland come together in Cardiff, this march gives people from across Wales the opportunity to come together at a time of real momentum for the independence movement."

Rhun ap Iorwerth, John Swinney and Michelle O’Neill met in Cardiff on Monday, 14 September, to sign a memorandum of understanding stating they were committed to independence from the United Kingdom, despite recent polls showing 68 per cent of people in Wales are opposed to the notion.
