A PORTHMADOG florist has scooped the award for the best-dressed shop window in town.
Lili Wen on High Street won the top prize in a festive competition organised by Caru Port, a group dedicated to promoting Porthmadog.
Judge Myfanwy Gloster presented florist Susan Owen with the top prize, which this year was a specially crafted trophy, crafted by Myfanwy’s husband, local potter Tom Gloster.
There was also a prize for the best charity shop Christmas window which went to Age Concern.
Porthmadog councillor and chair of Caru Port, Selwyn Griffith felt the competition was good news for the town.
“Lili Wen, the winner of the best Christmas decorated shop window organised by Caru Port, received a very special trophy,” he said. “Tom Gloster has designed and created the trophy at his pottery at Porthmadog.
“I am very grateful to Tom for designing the trophy which anyone would be very proud to win.
“Porthmadog is very important to us and it is marvellous to see our local shops creating a festive atmosphere here which, along with our Christmas lights, will encourage people to come here to shop.
“Supporting local shops is very important to us.
“May I take this opportunity to wish all the winners, participants and residents in Porthmadog a very merry Christmas.”
