Madam,

Tony Newbury refers to accidents around Clynnog Fawr (letters, last week), but says that Llanbedr does not share such an accident record. However, there have been incidents in Llanbedr.

I remember a gentleman and a young girl being struck on the bridge in separate incidents. My wife with our two children also had to take refuge down the steps of the Victoria to avoid a skidding lorry, and many people have said they have been brushed by passing vehicles.

All these incidents were minor, but must not be ignored. I find it is more important to focus on the safety of pedestrians; relieve congestion and prevent speeding traffic.
