Aberystwyth Arts Centre and Tregaron Turfs have both been recipients of Lottery funding.

Ceredigion projects hit the jackpot as the National Lottery celebrates 25 years of changing lives.

New figures reveal that more than £84m of National Lottery funding has been invested in Ceredigion since the National Lottery began almost 25 years ago.

Thanks to National Lottery players, lives of ordinary people have been transformed in Ceredigion over the past quarter of a century. Around 2,200 National Lottery grants have been awarded since 1994, helping to strengthen our communities, power our sports teams, protect the environment, unleash local creative talent and look after the elderly and those at risk.

A wide variety of local projects have received National Lottery funding over the last 25 years. Large grants have gone to:

• Restoring Cardigan Castle in the town of Cardigan and sensitively transforming the 900 year-old site into a new heritage attraction, complete with luxury accommodation, riverside restaurant and events programme (£6.5m); redeveloping and re-equipping the Arts Centre in Aberystwyth (£2.5m).

Most National Lottery grants, however, are for £10,000 or less:

• £5,000 to provide equipment and improve play opportunities at Parc y Felin in Lampeter;

• £4,986 for Dolen Dewi in Capel Dewi, Ceredigion, to upgrade the facilities available in their village hall to improve user experience and increase members;

• £1,500 for Tregaron Turfs Junior football team.
