A FORMER chip shop owner from Nefyn has lost a whopping six stone after realising his extra weight was restricting him from enjoying his motorbike hobby.
Anthony Simpson, 45, shed the six stone with a year by joining a local slimming group and says it’s completely changed his life around.
Anthony, who used to run local chippy the Cod Father, said: “I was coming home from work absolutely worn out and I couldn’t understand why.
"I’d also get really uncomfortable on my bike. I tried a quick fix diet, protein shakes and a few other things and nothing worked.
“I noticed some information for a local Slimming World group and thought this may be the place for me.”
Under the guidance of consultant and member Amanda McFall, from the Pwllheli slimming group, Anthony lost nine pounds in his first week.
Amanda said: “Slimming World is all about making different choices, and managing food around life.
“Our groups are warm, and friendly, no food is banned and it’s simply following healthy eating which leads to healthier living.”
Anthony said he found no problem following the eating plan provided by the group and is proud of his transformation.
He added: “I feel so much better for it. Riding my motorbike is so much more fun and I have tonnes more energy.
“I even won a bet with a cynical mate – he couldn’t believe the transformation in me – or his wallet!”
