For the first time, the Friends of Bronglais decided to hold a spring coffee morning this year, a venture which turned out to be most successful. Takings from the stalls amounted to £1,000 while donations and subscriptions brought the total up to £2,039, an amazing sum. Organisers thanked all who took part. Contributions from individuals and local businesses were generous and varied.
The event was opened by Carys Stevens, palliative care team leader, who praised the work of the Friends and thanked the group for their contribution to HAVAV, the Hospice at Home association. Carys mixed and chatted with the many people who had come to support. Also present were Rosalind Lai, library and knowledge services manager at Bronglais Hospital and Gemma Freedman, volunteer co-ordinator for Radio Bronglais, both groups having also benefited from donations by the Friends. Both Rosalind and Gemma showed their enjoyment and voiced their appreciation.
