A CRICCIETH woman is raising money for two cancer charities on the first anniversary of her father’s passing.
Dani Crisp, 28 has set up a raffle and is selling tickets in aid of Marie Curie and Cancer Research UK.
So far she has raised £1,502. The final total will be split between the two charities.
Dani told the Cambrian News what the charities mean to her family.
“Last January 2020 my dad Steve Barlow was diagnosed with lung cancer with secondaries in his bones.
“He was diagnosed on 15 January and sadly he passed away on 6 March.
“It was very unexpected and very quick.
“As a family we had the most amazing lady from Marie Curie with us on the night my dad passed.
“She was absolutely incredible and honestly we could never thank her enough.
“So I decided as we were coming up to nearly a year of his passing I’d try and do something positive and raise some money for Marie Curie and Cancer Research in his memory.”
Dani’s father was very passionate about fundraising, as she explained.
“He also did quite a few different things to raise money over the years too such as Movember, Sober for October, he did an abseil with work (Tesco) so it’s something he was quite passionate about.
“So it started off as a small idea and the support from local business and the community has been amazing.”
