A Porsche owner who hit out at a Lampeter garage after discovering her car had been driven at speeds up to 89mph has insisted she never wanted an employee to lose their job.
Jane Symonds had complained to Huw Lewis Tyres after dashcam footage showed her Porsche had been driven by garage employees at high speed on roads around the Lampeter area.
After BBC TV programme X-Ray featured her case, Mrs Symonds said the programme had not covered the full facts of the case.
Huw Lewis said they had apologised to Mrs Symonds and the matter had been handed over to the police.
But Mrs Symonds insisted that she has never received an apology from the Lampeter garage and said she had not complained to see anyone lose their job.
Mrs Symonds said: “The facts are I had no intention of letting anybody lose their job over the incident.
“The manager was supposed to be looking after the car himself.
“They used that employee as a scapegoat as they wanted to get rid of him anyway.
“I’ve still not had an apology from the Lampeter branch at all. On the programme they said they had apologised, but they haven’t.
“They’ve basically used my car to get rid of that employee.
“The manager told me that he drove the car at 80mph himself.
“They used that kid as a scapegoat, and have basically raced my car and not apologised for it.”
