A GENEROUS couple from Dolgellau are flying thousands of miles to deliver warm clothes to children in desperate need in Nepal.
Suzanne Williams, 54, manager of the post office in the town, is leaving next month with her husband Keith, 58, to fulfil a long-held ambition.
The Williams family has been supporting a Nepalese education facility on the outskirts of Kathmandu, Shreekhandapur Primary School, since 2009 when Suzanne’s son Carl worked as a volunteer teacher in the area.
Suzanne, who suffers from MS and feels compelled to “do things whilst you still can”, said: “When our son started at the school, he told us of their life, of the children, the headmaster, the teachers, the school and the village.
“He told us what he thought was needed to make a difference.
“We started helping by sending out some items for the children, and the odd donation."
Now Carl’s parents are actually heading out to Nepal to help on the ground and also celebrate 30 years of marriage.
Any donations can be dropped off at the Dolgellau Post Office.
