Editor,

Thank you Aberystwyth!

We are overwhelmed!

There has been an absolutely fantastic response to The Salvation Army Christmas Appeal 2019.

Thanks to the generous donations of the public - as well as Jubilee Storehouse, St Michael’s Gift Wrap service, Penparcau Knit & Knatter and those who attended the Arts Centre Carol Service, along with several local businesses - we are on track in supporting those who need a little Christmas cheer this year.

We’ve collected, received, sorted, wrapped and delivered hundreds of gifts, and, in doing so, have hopefully helped those who’ve received remember that the precious gifts of hope, joy, peace and love are possible when we all work together.

Our efforts, along with those of the other churches and agencies in our town, keep going throughout the year as we try to assist people who are in need - so please continue to be generous: buy a suspended coffee, give an extra tin to the work of the Jubilee Storehouse or donate your clothing to the local charity shops. it all helps and it all supports people in our community.

From the bottom of my heart I say a very sincere “thank you” to our fabulous team here at The Salvation Army and to the wonderful people of Aberystwyth and beyond.

There are so many stories to tell of how these gifts are received. May we have a very blessed Christmas and a happy new year.

Apart from the last-minute, urgent referrals, most of the gifts have now been sorted and disseminated.

Claire Durrant, Captain, The Salvation Army Aberystwyth Corps.
