CHILDREN and their play equipment in Bala will be more secure following the installation of CCTV cameras.
A police community support officer has helped to fund the installation of the cameras in Parc Heol playground, a community-run group located on Castle Street.
The South Gwynedd Safer Neighbourhood Team is fully supportive of Parc Heol’s development, as it offers a safe haven for children and helps reduce anti-social behaviour issues.
The park is also next to Bala Football Club and the bowling club.
PCSO Lona Davenport applied for a Police and Community Trust [PACT] grant which was used to buy and maintain the cameras.
She said: “This means that at busier times, noticing suspicious activity will be easier, and parents can be reassured by the extra security.”
