Madam,
Further to Peter Jones’ letter, ‘the Tree’ has already provoked a great deal of thought and discussion, the result of which came down firmly against placing it where the artist wanted it to be.
Like Peter and some of the other objectors to ‘the Tree’, I am part of the artistic community locally and might be expected to approve of a interesting project like this. However, like many others, I value the beach and submerged forest for their life-affirming qualities and their insight into prehistory.
Perhaps if Robert Davies had lived locally for a little longer, he would have grown to appreciate the area in the same way, without wishing to “improve” it? As it is, we should be grateful to the councillors for turning down his application.
Yours etc,
Jeremy Moore, Penrhyncoch.
