Tony Lovelock (Cambrian News Letters, 19 December) powerfully addresses the greatest threat to mankind, climate change, and has little faith in Boris Johnson’s determination to combat it, which is inevitable, considering America has said climate change must not be a factor in trade talks. Trump will always out-bully Johnson.

Talking of bullies, Andrew Neil dismissed the Shadow Chancellor’s assertion that Brexit was a central reason for Labour’s defeat.

As a right-wing attack dog, Neil could not resist rubbishing the threat of Labour policy, which had a very strong environmental emphasis.

However, as an ex-Sunday Times editor, his concern for circulation figures should render him numerate enough to understand simple bar charts, which he chose to ignore. Those bar charts vividly illustrate how the Leave areas voted Conservative, and who will, I fear, like the Nottinghamshire miners in the Miners’ Strike, be sold down the river by a Conservative government,
