A GRANT worth hundreds of pounds and a team of green-fingered volunteers have helped beautify Blaenau Ffestiniog.
Members of the Park Partnership donated their time to plant fruit trees, shrubs and to do a litter-pick on Saturday, 13 February.
The partnership had received an All Wales Grant of £500 in order to buy plants, gardening equipment and litter-picking equipment. The grant scheme, run by Keep Wales Tidy and funded by Tesco’s single-use carrier bag charge, helps community groups to improve their local environment.
Secretary of the partnership Mark Thomas thanked the children who had turned up on the day with their parents to help plant the fruit trees.
The next task for the verdant volunteers will be to plant seeds paid for by the grant over the forthcoming Easter holidays.
