Re the letter by John S Jones of New Quay, ‘A shocking experience’, in last week’s Cambrian News.

Firstly, I offer my sincere condolences on the loss of his wife, however I feel his grief has clouded his judgment. If you park longer than an allotted time or illegally you are risking the chance of being fined, whether it be in Aberystwyth, New Quay or any other British locality.

To direct the blame of your wrong-doing on a person who is going about their job isn’t fair and it’s comments like these that make their job even harder. It’s beyond me when people complain about being fined by the police or other authorities rather than acknowledge their own wrong-doing.
