A PWLLHELI poet is to feature in a television series which will highlight the literary events at the National Eisteddfod this year.
Poet Guto Dafydd had a very busy week at the National Eisteddfod in Monmouthshire, not only did he win the Daniel Owen Memorial Prize for his novel Ymbelydredd (Radiation), he also had a full schedule at The Literary Pavilion.
Television viewers will now be able to enjoy a literary feast throughout August and September in the series Mwy o’r Babell Lên which begins on Tuesday, 23 August, and will screen conversations about literatures, music and history, as well as the battle of the bards competition, the highlight of the literary events at the Eisteddfod for many.
Guto, who is originally from Trefor, said: “All in all, I think I was on stage at the Literary Pavilion six times!
“I think the session I enjoyed most was Eight out of 10 Poets. It was an opportunity to test the knowledge of six poets about Welsh literature, but more importantly I enjoyed entertaining the audience by persuading the panellists to perform silly tasks.
“There was plenty of laughter and singing in that session!"
