A charity shop in Blaenau Ffestiniog has set a new world record.

Grandma’s Attic set the people of Gwynedd a challenge to beat the world record for most people stood on a rugby pitch wearing a Wales shirt.

The challenge was set for St David’s Day and the charity can now reveal that a new world record has been set.

Sam Mountford-Tilley, a trustee of the charity, said: "We had a total of 209 people who took part in the record. Whilst we have set the record we had really hoped that more people would have come along.

"The yellow weather warning affected it which is such a shame as it stayed dry all day.”

The world record attempt was organised to raise money for a minibus for the town.

A total of £635 was raised at the St David’s Day event, which also saw local acts performing and various stalls located around the site at Clwb Rygbi Bro Ffestiniog.
