The North Wales Society for the Blind is looking to establish another new social group for people living with sight loss in Gwynedd.

Similar groups in Bangor, Porthmadog, Colwyn Bay, and Llangefni have become increasingly popular, and now the society hopes to establish another one in Caernarfon.

They offer a welcoming space for people to share experiences, support one another, and spend time with others who understand the challenges of living with sight loss.

Many of our members tell us just how valuable these groups are.

A member of Colwyn Bay’s branch said: “Our group is brilliant — we’ve all become very good friends.

“We have guest speakers on all sorts of interesting topics, and sometimes we do craft sessions or sit together to share experiences.

“It’s a great place to make new friends and talk to other people who understand sight loss. I’ve picked up so many tips and pieces of advice from others since joining, and

I look forward to going every month.”

To ensure that any new group in Caernarfon is meaningful and reflects what people want, the society has organised an informal session to gather views at Lle

Arall, Llety Arall, 9 Stryd y Plas, Caernarfon, Gwynedd LL55 1RR, on Tuesday, 3 November at 10.30am.

If possible, please call Bethan on 01248 353604 to confirm attendance so the society can ensure there are enough seats and refreshments for everyone.

“We would be delighted to welcome you there and hear your views,” a society spokesperson said.
