CARDIGAN is rejoicing after Friday night’s Giant Lantern Parade wove a magical spell on the town and brought together locals and visitors alike.
The event was made possible when Cymdeithas Aberteifi Society obtained National Lottery funding.
Small World Theatre proceeded to work energetically with community groups and the general public to create beautiful lanterns of all shapes and sizes for Friday’s spectacular event which brought huge crowds of spectators into town.
This year’s parade was inspired by the legendary Tale of Taliesin and included many giant creatures and characters from the story.
Crowds were also treated to a splendid fireworks display over the River Teifi with donations raised by Cardigan Traders.
“This event is a triumph,” said Cllr Catrin Miles. “It brings the community together and is a boost to local business.
“It was great to see so many of Cardigan’s shops, pubs and restaurants open late for Christmas shopping and to welcome the spectators. Congratulations to Small World Theatre for their hard work.”
