A TYWYN boy has set himself a challenge to cycle 20 miles throughout March to raise money for the Wales Air Ambulance.

Harry Kendall, who is eight years old, set himself the goal to raise £150.

He has since more than quadrupled this and, at the time of publication, had raised £680.

Harry has completed eight miles so far and is well on course to complete the full 20 miles by the end of the month.

Explaining why Harry wanted to raise money for this particular charity, his mum, Tiffany, said: “Harry asked to raise money for this charity as its a cause that’s special to our family.

“Harry’s younger brother Edward, who is now one-year-old, got into difficulty last year after choking on a piece of cellophane.

“I attempted to clear the blockage several times but was unsuccessful and an ambulance needed to be called.

“This was followed by the deployment of an air ambulance.

“It’s thanks to their swift decision to transfer Edward by air to Alder Hey hospital to remove the piece of plastic that he is alive today.

“Harry wanted to say thank you by raising money for the cause.”

Tiffany added: “The support from the community, family and friends has been overwhelming and we are beyond grateful as a family.

“The generous donations mean so much especially in a time when money is tight for families due to Covid circumstances.

“It really does show how much people value the cause and the work the air ambulance does is invaluable.”
