CHILDREN in Aberystwyth are helping spread the Healthy Schools message in a new video.

The youngsters from Plascrug Community School in Aberystwyth say being part of the Welsh Network of Healthy School Schemes is helping them and their families be healthier.

WNHSS involves nursery, primary, secondary and special schools and works towards a whole school approach to improving health.

In the video the children explain how they have a healthy fruit tuck shop, do lots of physical activity and have ‘circle time’ where they share their feelings.

Mary Charles, National Programme Lead for the Welsh Network of Healthy Schools Schemes, said: “Health and emotional wellbeing is now fully integrated into school life and this is helping teachers, parents and the community as a whole.

“We would like to say a massive thank you to the children and staff at Plascrug Community School for starring in our new video.”
