ASPIRING doctors from Gwynedd and Ceredigion are taking part in a new prime-time television show following their progress in the hectic world of medicine.

A major TV documentary series will look at how a leading School of Medicine is preparing a new generation of doctors for the ever-growing demands of the NHS.

Starting on S4C at 8.25pm, Tuesday, 13 September, the series Doctoriaid Yfory (Tomorrow’s Doctors) follows Cardiff University students for 12 months in hospitals and general practices all over Wales.

Participants include Catrin Powell from Pwllheli, Catrin Elin Owen from Pen Llyn, Gwenlli Mai Jones from Trawsfynydd and Bethan Elin Green from Blaenporth.

Ranging between 18 and 23 years old, the Welsh-speaking students come from various backgrounds but they are all united by a passion for medicine.

The seven-part series has enjoyed unrivalled access to operating theatres, surgeries, hospital wards and the multi-million-pound clinical training facilities at Cardiff University’s Heath Campus.
