CANOLFAN Goffa Ffestiniog will be welcoming the community heart failure nursing team when it opens later this year.

Heart failure nurse-led clinics were established earlier this year at Blaenau Ffestiniog GP Surgery and the team will continue to offer a monthly clinic from the new health and wellbeing centre.

Heart failure nurse specialist, Fayona Bareham, explained how the service aims to provide support to those with a confirmed diagnosis of Heart Failure in their local community.

“We have held four clinics so far since we began our service at the GP surgery in Blaenau Ffestiniog, and we are grateful to the surgery staff for being so accommodating in helping us to set up and run the clinics.

"The service will move into the new health centre later this year and we aim to provide a clinic at least once a month but this may vary depending on local need.

“Having this service available to the local community brings the care required closer to home and will help ease the burden of travel for many.”

The heart failure nursing team runs clinics across the Gwynedd and Anglesey area in a variety of different locations, including community hospitals, GP surgeries, and community health centres.
