SPECIAL celebrations to mark the 10th anniversary of Ty Geraint, the palliative care centre at Bronglais Hospital, will be held on Friday, 15 July.

The centre opened in 2006 to provide a specialist facility in north Ceredigion and won backing from a range of organisations, including the local Rotary Club.

The celebrations will see speeches from former patients, staff at the unit and health board officials, with a range of exhibits to show people the work that is carried out at Ty Geraint.

Hywel Dda chair Bernardine Rees and Peter Skitt, the director of acute services, will make speeches at the event praising the impact and role that Ty Geraint has played in the local area.

Dr Alan Axford, of the Hospice at Home Aberystwyth Volunteers charity will be talking about the charity and its links with Ty Geraint. As well as a raffle, there will be entertainment, with the events taking place between 2pm and 4pm.
