CEREDIGION was the only county in Wales with no new confirmed Covid-19 cases reported by Public Health Wales today (Saturday).

At 35, Ceredigion has the fewest confirmed cases in Wales. Second lowest is Anglesey with 63.

The new cases reported in North, Mid and West Wales were:

Ceredigion 0

Powys 5

Gwynedd 7

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Wales is updated daily at 2pm by Public Health Wales. Cases are only confirmed when a positive test has taken place. At the moment, cases are only tested in hospital, so infection rates are likely to be higher.

But testing is due to be widened imminently.

All Ceredigion patients are counted within the Ceredigion figures, even if they are in hospital in a different county.

A total of 299 new confirmed cases have been reported in Wales in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 8,900.

The number of suspected Covid deaths reported to Public Health Wales now stands at 774.

In today’s (Saturday’s) figures, following "data cleaning", the authorities have removed 22 previously reported deaths which do not have a positive test result.

The deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, but may have taken place earlier.

The ONS Covid figures released for the first time this week include all deaths with Covid mentioned of the death certificate, and so will differ from the confirmed test counts carried out by PHW.
