Gwynedd has recorded 20 new cases of coronavirus today, according to Public Health Wales figures released this lunchtime.
The county’s rolling seven-day total, for the 18 to 24 February period, is 106, resulting in a rate of 85.1 cases per 100,000 population – the second highest in Wales.
A total of 2,974 positive cases have been returned in the county since the pandemic’s start, meaning 6 per cent of the total 49,482 tests have been positive.
In Ceredigion, just three new cases were reported today, and the rolling seven-day total is 16, a rate of 22 per 100,000 population – the lowest in Wales.
The total number of positive cases since the start of the pandemic is 1,723 – also the lowest in Wales - meaning 7.5 per cent of the 23,001 tests have returned a positive result.
This gives Ceredigion the fifth lowest proportion of positive cases compared to other Welsh counties.
Elsewhere in the Hywel Dda Health Board region, Carmarthenshire has reported 15 new cases, while none were recorded in Pembrokeshire.
The rolling seven-day total in Carmarthenshire is 112, and 44 in Pembrokeshire.
In Powys, eight new cases were reported today, taking the overall total to 3,960 - a 8.3 per cent positive proportion of the total 47,904 tests carried out in the county.
In Wales as a whole, 193 new cases and three deaths have been reported today, taking the total tallies to 203,818 and 5,343 respectively.
According to Public Health Wales, as of the week ending 21 February, 865,518 people in Wales have received a first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, and 42,821 have also had their second dose.
114,607 vaccines had been administered by Hywel Dda Health Board, 48,439 by Powys Teaching Health Board, and 213,199 by Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board which covers Gwynedd.
