A total of 555 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Wales today, according to the latest Public Health Wales figures.

No new Covid-related deaths have been recorded however, leaving the total death toll since the start of the pandemic at 5,589.

In the Hywel Dda Health Board area, 32 cases were reported in Carmarthenshire, seven in Pembrokeshire and four in Ceredigion.

In Gwynedd, 13 new cases have been recorded, while Powys has reported 32.

The national rate of infection in Wales, which is taken from a rolling seven-day period, today covering 9 July to 15 July, stands at 185.8 cases per 100,000 population.

The rate in Powys is higher however, as it currently stands at 231.1.

The rate is lower than the national average in Ceredigion (107.3), Pembrokeshire (91.4), Carmarthenshire (88.5) and Gwynedd (119.6).

As of the week ending 11 July, 503,089 doses of vaccine has been administered by Hywel Dda, 889,116 by Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board in the north, and 189,643 by Powys Teaching Health Board.
