Seven new deaths have been recorded today, according to the latest coronavirus figures.

Data released by Public Health Wales this lunchtime shows that 2,576 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded across Wales today with the rate of infection nationwide on the upward trend.

Wales’ national rate of infection currently stands at 527.4 cases per 100,000 population.

Ceredigion has recorded 37 new cases today with 166 in Carmarthenshire and 36 in Pembrokeshire.

Powys has recorded 73 new cases with Gwynedd recording 59.

There were seven new Welsh Covid-related deaths reported with the total across Wales now standing at 5,821 deaths since the start of the pandemic 18 months ago.

Across Wales, 2,382,032 have received a first dose of Covid-19 vaccine and 2,211,226 are fully vaccinated.
