Four Covid-related deaths have been reported in Wales, according to the latest Public Health Wales figures released this lunchtime.

The new deaths take the total toll since the start of the pandemic to 5,594.

Across Wales there have been 712 new cases of coronavirus reported, including 20 in Ceredigion, 12 in Carmarthenshire and six in Pembrokeshire.

In Powys 17 cases have been recorded, and 21 in Gwynedd.

The national rate of infection in Wales, which is taken from a rolling seven-day period, today covering 11 July to 17 July, stands at 189.4 cases per 100,000 population.

The rate in Powys is higher however, as it currently stands at 228.0.

The rate is lower than the national average in Ceredigion (114.2), Pembrokeshire (111.3), Carmarthenshire (94.3) and Gwynedd (118.8).

As of the week ending 18 July, 513.154 doses of vaccine have been administered by Hywel Dda, 910,379 by Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board in the north, and 194,451 by Powys Teaching Health Board.
