Positive coronavirus cases remain low in Ceredigion as a mass vaccination programme continues to be rolled out, figures from Public Health Wales show.

Five new cases in Ceredigion were recorded today, bringing the total to 41 for the seven days between 28 January and 3 February.

The figure represents just a quarter of the weekly high of more than 157 cases recorded in the county before Christmas.

Ceredigion has now seen 632 positive cases since 7 September, and 719 overall since the beginning of the pandemic.

Ceredigion continues to see the lowest number of figures of any local authority Wales-wide, as the county wrestles back control of the virus following outbreaks before Christmas in several towns.

Powys saw 112 positive cases over the same seven-day period between 28 January and 3 February, a number that has fallen each week since Christmas.
