Another 12 new deaths with coronavirus have been reported in the latest figures released by Public Health Wales this lunchtime.

The total number of deaths in the country now stands at 5,378, while another 230 new cases were recorded today, taking the overall tally to 204,692.

In Ceredigion, one new case was reported in the last 24 hours, and the seven-day rolling total (for 22 to 28 February) is just 14, resulting in a rate of 19.3 cases per 100,000 population – the lowest in Wales.

The total number of positive cases since the start of the pandemic is 1,729 – also the lowest in Wales - meaning 7.4 per cent of the 23,098 tests have returned a positive result.

Elsewhere in the Hywel Dda Health Board region, Carmarthenshire has reported nine new cases and Pembrokeshire three.

The rolling seven-day total in Carmarthenshire is 81, and 25 in Pembrokeshire.

In Powys, six new cases were reported today, taking the overall total to 3,993 - an 8.2 per cent positive proportion of the total 48,448 tests carried out in the county.

Gwynedd has recorded 18 new cases today, while the county’s rolling seven-day total is 111, resulting in a rate of 89.1 cases per 100,000 population – the highest in Wales.

A total of 3,017 positive cases have been returned in the county since the pandemic’s start, meaning 6 per cent of the total 50,033 tests have been positive.

According to Public Health Wales, 928,213 people in Wales have now received a first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, with 126,562 doses being administered in Hywel Dda, 240,487 in Betsi Cadwaladr, and 56,236 in Powys.
