Just three new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in Ceredigion in the past 24 hours, according to official figures from Public Health Wales.

The county’s seven-day total for 29 January to 4 February stands at 43 cases, a rate of 59 per 100,000 population.

The total number of positive cases since the start of the pandemic is 1,670 - the lowest in Wales - meaning 7.8 per cent of the 21,464 tests have returned a positive result.

Elsewhere in the Hywel Dda Health Board region, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire have reported 16 and 11 new cases respectively.

The seven-day total in Carmarthenshire is 259, and 82 in Pembrokeshire.

In Powys, 21 new cases were reported today, taking the overall total to 3,625 - a 8.2 per cent positive proportion of the total 44,219 tests carried out in the county.

In Gwynedd, 17 new cases were reported today while the seven-day total for the 29 January to 4 February period is 101, resulting in a rate of 81 per 100,000 population.

A total of 2,655 positive cases have been returned in the county since the pandemic’s start, meaning 5.9 per cent of the total 45,368 tests have been positive.

In Wales as a whole, 351 new cases and 10 deaths have been reported today, taking the total tallies to 197,021 and 5,011 respectively.

According to Public Health Wales, 628,760 people in Wales have received a first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, and 3,491 have also had their second dose.
