No new Covid-related deaths have been reported in the latest figures released by Public Health Wales this lunchtime.

The total number of deaths in the country remains at 5,543, while 58 new cases were recorded today, taking the overall tally to 211,162.

In Ceredigion, one new case was reported in the last 24 hours, and the seven-day rolling total (for 12 to 18 April) is five, resulting in a rate of 6.9 cases per 100,000 population.

Elsewhere in the Hywel Dda Health Board region, Carmarthenshire has reported four new cases and Pembrokeshire three.

The rolling seven-day total in Carmarthenshire is 12, and just three in Pembrokeshire. In Powys, two new cases were reported today.

Gwynedd has recorded five new cases. Its rolling seven-day total is 35, resulting in a rate of 28.1 cases per 100,000 population – the highest in Wales.

According to Public Health Wales, 1,742,273 people in Wales have received a first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, and 653,537 have also had their second dose.

As of the week ending 18 April, 275,652 vaccines had been administered by Hywel Dda Health Board, 118,965 by Powys Teaching Health Board, and 524,975 by Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board which covers Gwynedd.
