One new death with coronavirus has been reported in the latest figures released by Public Health Wales this lunchtime.
The total number of deaths in the country now stands at 5,344, while 170 new cases were recorded today, taking the overall tally to 203,988.
In Ceredigion, no new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, and the seven-day rolling total (for 19 to 25 February) is just 18, resulting in a rate of 24.8 cases per 100,000 population – the lowest in Wales.
The total number of positive cases since the start of the pandemic is 1,723 – also the lowest in Wales - meaning 7.5 per cent of the 23,046 tests have returned a positive result.
This gives Ceredigion the fifth lowest proportion of positive cases compared to other Welsh counties.
Elsewhere in the Hywel Dda Health Board region, Carmarthenshire has reported nine new cases and Pembrokeshire eight.
The rolling seven-day total in Carmarthenshire is 105, and 35 in Pembrokeshire.
In Powys, five new cases were reported today, taking the overall total to 3,965 - an 8.3 per cent positive proportion of the total 47,999 tests carried out in the county.
Gwynedd has recorded five new cases today, while the county’s rolling seven-day total is 108, resulting in a rate of 86.7 cases per 100,000 population – the second highest in Wales.
A total of 2,974 positive cases have been returned in the county since the pandemic’s start, meaning 6 per cent of the total 49,482 tests have been positive.
According to Public Health Wales, 933,485 people in Wales have received a first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, and 111,716 have also had their second dose.
As of the week ending 21 February, 114,607 vaccines had been administered by Hywel Dda Health Board, 48,439 by Powys Teaching Health Board, and 213,199 by Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board which covers Gwynedd.
