Wales has recorded over 100 new cases of coronavirus today as the country officially moves from Alert Level 4 to Level 3.
104 new cases of Covid-19 have been identified across Wales today with four new deaths, taking the total to 5,556.
Ceredigion has recorded two new cases of the virus today with Carmarthenshire recording 11 new cases.
Gwynedd has reported four new cases while Pembrokeshire and Powys both recorded one new case.
It has been announced this lunchtime that all four nations of the UK are to move to Alert Level 3.
There are five levels in total with Level 3 stating Covid-19 is in general circulation but does not state that transmission is high or rising exponentially as Level 4 states.
In a joint statement, the UK Chief Medical Officers said they agree that the UK alert level should move from Level 4 to Level 3.
They said: “Thanks to the efforts of the UK public in social distancing and the impact we are starting to see from the vaccination programme, case numbers, deaths and Covid hospital pressures have fallen consistently.
“However Covid is still circulating with people catching and spreading the virus every day so we all need to continue to be vigilant.
“This remains a major pandemic globally.
"It is very important that we all continue to follow the guidance closely and everyone gets both doses of the vaccine when they are offered it.”
