OVER 3,000 new cases of coronavirus and nine deaths have been recorded today.
The latest figures released this lunch time by Public Health Wales cover a 24-hour period up to 9am on Friday.
A total of 3,016 new cases have been recorded today with 47 in Ceredigion, 111 in Pembrokeshire and 209 in Carmarthenshire.
Three of the nine deaths recorded in Wales today have been in the Hywel Dda Health Board region of Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.
The total number of suspected Covid-19 deaths in west Wales now stands at 567.
One death has been recorded in the Betsi Cadwaladr region of north Wales with the total number of deaths in that region now standing at 1,069.
No new deaths have been recorded in Powys, with the total number remaining at 77.
Since the start of the pandemic, 6,150 deaths have been recorded in Wales.
The national rate of infection has dropped again to 618.1 cases per 100,000.
The number is much higher in certain parts of north Ceredigion and Meirionnydd.
The rolling seven-day figures, which cover a period between 19-25 October show that Bala and Mawddwy had a rate of infection of 1,199.2 cases per 100,000.
Borth and Bontgoch in Ceredigion had a rate of 1,021.5 with Aberystwyth south not far behind with a rate of 971.2.
