OVER 5,700 new Covid-19 cases and 23 deaths have been recorded across Wales in the latest figures released this evening.
The daily figures are usually released at midday every day by Public Health Wales, but due to a ‘network issue’ the data was only updated late this afternoon.
The figures published on Public Health Wales’ website include cases and deaths reported up to 9am on Friday morning and as such, cover a 48 hour period, not 24 hours.
The data shows that 5,705 new cases have been recorded across Wales with 23 deaths.
88 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Ceredigion, with Carmarthenshire recording 367 new cases and Pembrokeshire recording 229.
Powys has recorded 254 new cases over the 48-hour period up to 9am on Friday, with Gwynedd recording 159.
Two deaths have been recorded in the Hywel Dda Health Board region of Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, taking the total number of fatalities in the region since the start of the pandemic to 528.
Three deaths have been recorded in the Betsi Cadwaladr region of north Wales with no new deaths recorded in Powys.
Because today’s figures contain data up to 9am on Friday, no figures will be released on Sunday and normal reporting will resume on Monday, 11 October.
