Ceredigion has recorded two new cases of coronavirus, according to the latest figures.

Figures for the 48-hour period up to 9am on Sunday have been released this lunchtime which show that 75 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded across Wales over the weekend.

Gwynedd recorded three cases with Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire all recording two new cases each.

No cases of the virus were recorded in Powys.

One Covid-19-related death was registered in Wales over the weekend – the first in over 10 days.

The total number of cases in Wales since the start of the pandemic is now 213,166, with 5,570 deaths.

In Wales 2,183,455 people have received their first vaccination and 1,249,268 the second dose.

Aberystwyth University confirmed that one case of coronavirus was confirmed among staff and students on Sunday, 6 June.

This is the second case in the last week with another case being recorded on 1 June.

In total, 134 students and 11 members of staff have tested positive for coronavirus since 4 September 2020.
