A BARMOUTH woman has spoken of her disgust at the state of a Covid-19 testing van in the town.

Toni Wisbey said the van, parked in the seafront car park in Barmouth was “disgusting” and has vowed not to take another PCR test.

The mother-of-six said she wanted to get tested because her four-year-old daughter was poorly, but told the Cambrian News the experience was shocking

Recalling the events of Monday, 15 November, Toni said: “I had to go for a Covid test in the new mobile testing centre on the Barmouth Promenade car park.

“I was told that they hadn’t set up their tent so I would have to do the test in the back of the testing van.

“I didn’t mind until I got there and my test was on the floor with an open box of tissues.

“The back of the van was disgusting and the test tube had a funny colour water in it; I’ve only ever seen a clear liquid in the tubes.

“I did the test on my lap and I only took the test as my little girl has a bad chest so I was just being careful.

“I won’t be using them again and I’m questioning how serious the PCR tests actually are. I don’t think I will ever take one again.

“It’s disgusting.

“I also found the five men that were there quite intimidating; [a] bit more like bouncers than health care workers.”

Toni, who has six children aged between 2 and 18, added: “I was surprised the test came back negative and I still can’t believe the state of the van, considering everyone keeps saying how sterile everything should be.

“I was shocked.”
