A DOMICILIARY care conference will take place in Llanidloes next week.
The first domiciliary care conference to be held in mid Wales will take place at The Function Room, Mount Lane, between 10am and 3pm on Monday, 9 October.
The conference will be launched by Glyn Davies MP and chaired by Robert Lloyd Griffiths OBE, director of the Institute of Directors, Wales.
Key speakers include David Francis, the assistant chief inspector for the Care and Social Services Inspectorate for Wales.
People who receive domiciliary care services, carers, Ceredigion district nursing services and Powys social services department will also be speaking during the day.
Entry, including a buffet lunch and morning and afternoon refreshments, is free and the conference is being organised by TLC, a domiciliary care agency providing care and support for people in their own homes in Ceredigion and Powys.
The conference will seek ways devoted to sharing practice and improving the quality of provision for people within the region who receive care and support services in their own homes.
Gladys Perks, the founder of TLC, said: “I am delighted that TLC is able to host and fund this important first conference in the region.
“It is a real step forward in the provision of care and support for people who are often elderly so that they may continue to live in their own homes.
“It is also an opportunity to break down barriers between organisations as carers from across the region and agencies will come together to listen to experts in their field, and to share and strengthen their practice.
“I am very grateful to those who have committed their time to speaking at the event and of course to all of those who will be attending.”
