GWYNEDD council will tackle period poverty and environmental issues by providing free products.

The council’s libraries service is working in partnership with Gwynedd’s Education Department to provide free eco-friendly period products – they will be available in toilets at 10 libraries - namely Caernarfon, Bangor, Penygroes, Bethesda, Nefyn, Neuadd Dwyfor (when the library opens at the beginning of the year following refurbishment), Blaenau Ffestiniog, Tywyn, Barmouth and Dolgellau. Anyone needing period products are welcome to help themselves.

Another way to get free period products, especially reusable items, is by ordering them online or contacting the council.

Eco-friendly alternatives are better for the planet and cut down on waste and plastic sent to landfill.

The scheme offers a way to try out reusable products to see which works best for them.

Packs can be collected from the library or delivered to your home address, free of charge.

The goods will come in a sealed paper bag. You do not have to be a library member to order your pack.
