HEALTH campaigners in Blaenau Ffestiniog are “far more confident that progress will be made under the current management team” following news that Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board is to remain under special measures.
Last week, deputy minister for health Vaughan Gething announced Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board will face progress reviews every six months over the next two years.
Gwilym Price, vice-chair of the Blaenau Ffestiniog Hospital Defence Committee and member of the town’s League of Friends branch, believes progress is far more likely under Simon Dean and his executive committee than its predecessors.
“Unfortunately I’m not clever enough to forecast what will happen to Betsi Cadwaladr over the next couple of years, there’s a terrible mess to sort out,” Mr Price told the Cambrian News.
“I am far more confident progress will be made under the current management team.
“I have spoken to Simon Dean and I’ve spoken to Trevor Purt and Mr Dean is far easier to talk to
